Session 14 - Dreamteam week 11
Well, it's been a few weeks since I last did a blog. Since then I came 427th in WSOP event #31 (2000 NLHE) but sadly only 200 or so paid out! Damage done overplaying TT in the big blind against what turned out to be QQ...oops. Highlight was calling a 450 raise with 44 against 2 opponents and them pushing all-in on a K74 flop ...both holding AA! How they didn't get it all in pre-flop I'll never know but a nice treble up. Another goodie was my KK vs AK on a flop of AK5.
Didn't do so good in the cash games so I'll have to build my bankroll back up for next year!

Nice quiet start - fold a lot of hands, take the blinds with AQ, limp with JT and miss the flop.
mikjagger going well, doubled up within the first 10 hands.
JJ in the big blind - only the SB come in and then folds to a raise.

Not much happening really, mikjagger has joined the table and is BB on my button so maybe he'll let me nick some of his 5565 stack!?
Given the low turnout we're in the points already!
QQ in the SB, 3 limpers so I raise it (a bit more than I intended using the slider!) to 340 and get one caller. Kxx flop and he folds to a big raise. (Figured he'd call the pre-flop bet with AQ, AJ or a smaller pair, but have raised before the action got to me with AK and wouldn't call my raise with any other Kx).
AJ mid position, one limper so I raise to 150 and everyone folds.
Blinds 25/50. 92 Runners . Stack 2380.
QQ UTG so I limp to vary my play. Unfortunately even the SB folds so it's just me and the BB who could have anything! Need to be careful. J high flop and he folds to a 150 raise.
Result! Kirsten has just made me a plateful of curry!

KQ off in late position, raise to 250 and take the blinds.
Limp with 78 clubs but fold to mikjagger's raise (grrr!).

A6 spades UTG good enough for now so I push and take the blinds. Bit later folded to me on SB and I have 33 - a raise is good enough to take the blinds.

Great - the Antes have started and I have a short stack!
A few hands and blinds have gone and I'm down to 1255 - time to push anything half decent. A4 could be it...no, raise in front of me so I fold.
Next hand get K9 folded to me so I push - get called by A6 in the BB and am out in 37th for 400 points.
Gaff doubles up with the monster 89 against kpnuts' K7(!). Bit later gets it all-in pre-flop against the same player with AK vs AT but ends up splitting on a QQ778 board.
UPDATE
Just back from the pub, and it looks like the team did well...
gaffer 4k on the BB, SB goes all-in with 89, gaff calls with A8 you know the rest...9 on flop, A on turn, 9 on river for 24th.
Mark got short stacked and had 66 run into KK on final table for 10th, John had AQ run into KK for 26th.
Kirsten - 37th - 400 points
mikjagger - 26th - 600 points

Team total = 2600
